Parish Life
Cook-in Corner
Did you know that St. Andrew’s has been cooking and preparing complete meals for eleven years in support of FULL CIRCLE HOSPICE SUPPORT CLIENTS? These meals are also shared with the sick and shut-in of St. Andrew’s.
Each year, more than 1,000 meals are cooked and frozen using food donated by parishioners of St. Andrew’s! Sign-up sheets for food items needed for each cook-in can be found on the Parish Life Bulletin in the hallway near the church office or at the information table in White Hall. Home-made desserts are always appreciated as well! Full Circle was initially founded by the Diocese of Southern Virginia and was originally called Operation Amen.
Checks made-out to St. Andrew’s and designated “Cook-In” are always accepted. Volunteers are welcomed to help with the cooking
and packaging of meals which begins at 8:00 am in White Hall on the above listed dates.
St. Andrew’s Cook-In Group also sponsors an annual fund raising dinner for Full Circle called “Dinner is Served”. Dinners
are held each year throughout the community and are the largest fundraiser for Full Circle. "Dinner is Served will be here at St. Andrew's on Saturday, October 20 in White Hall at 6:00 p.m. Volunteers needed to help with decorating,
set-up, cooking and clean-up of this festive and fun event. Watch for more details in the next several issues of the SALTIRE (newsletter).
