Youth (EYC)

The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is comprised of young people in grades 6-12 who gather for the purpose of fellowship, fun, service to church and community, and spiritual nurturing. The St. Andrew’s EYC also meets regularly with EYC groups from other nearby parishes to offer a weekly and varied program for the youth. New Members are always welcome. Meeting locations and times are posted in the Saltire calendar and announced in the Sunday bulletin.

In the past, the Senior EYC has helped with the following projects: St. Andrew’s Cook-in; Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team (N.E.S.T.), a program for the homeless; Food Bank; and SHARE. Members of the group have also participated in Diocesan events such as Happening, October Weekend, Blackstone, convocation lock-ins, and many other activities.

The Junior EYC has assisted with Outreach Ministry parish dinners, the Seder dinner, the Flower Festival Rectors’ breakfast and more. Participation in Convocation and Diocesan activities are encouraged as well.
